Organic Feed Mill

Established in 2007, family-owned Coyote Creek Organic Feed Mill is the first commercial organic feed mill in the state of Texas. Our goals for the mill are to foster organic grain farming, lower the carbon footprint for organic feeds, foster cooperation between organic grain farmers and organic food and livestock producers, and improve local and regional farming economic opportunities.

Our organic feeds are made with certified organic ingredients and meet the USDA’s national organic standards. We also inspect and test incoming grain to make sure that it meets our high standards. Your feed is made fresh when the order is placed and will stay fresh for three to four months. In addition, all Coyote Creek Organic Feeds are 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

WHY FEED ORGANIC? Organic grains are grown from seed that has not been genetically modified. They are grown in healthy, living soil, and have not been treated with chemical herbicides, insecticides, or fertilizers. Moreover, organic grains usually have greater nutritional value. Bottom line — we believe organic grains are healthier and more nutritious for animals and the products consumed from them.

The mill is open Monday through Friday from 9-4 (closed noon - 1 pm).  You may call or email us with your order, and we ask that any feed orders be placed 24-48 hours ahead of requested pick-up time.  This will help ensure proper order fulfillment.  We accept cash or check.  If you’d like to pay by credit card, there will be a 3.5% fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Absolutely! Our minimum order for pickup at the mill is 500 pounds. Smaller quantities can be found at our retail outlets listed on the map above. Our mill office is open 9:00am – 4:00pm Monday through Friday (closed noon - 1 pm). We require 48 hours’ notice on feed orders.

  • Definitely! We ship through a third-party logistics company who provides door-to-door delivery service.  You place your order with us at Coyote Creek and make payment, we make the feed fresh to order and arrange the shipping, and the truck driver will contact you by phone on the day of delivery, usually 2-7 business days from when it ships out from the mill.  If you have any special needs, for example a shorter truck if your location calls for that, please let us know and we will take note.  Please be sure to give us the best phone number for us to provide the driver and an email address where we can contact you.  We will send you the tracking number as soon as it ships out, so that you can keep an eye on the shipment along the way.  If there is an unusual delay, please contact us and we will look into it.  If you need assistance unloading your shipment, we can request a lift gate which typically adds $50-65 to the shipping cost.  If you have your own forklift or tractor equipment to unload it, there is no need for the lift gate.

  • We can ship any of our feed formulations or ingredients. We can send your feed in 50-pound bags or in super-sized tote sacks which hold up to 2,000 pounds. Tote sacks are reusable and cost $15 each. Ordering in bulk gives you a price break but will require equipment to unload at your location.

  • Shipping charges will vary depending on distance and weight. Often, increasing an order will only marginally increase shipping charges. Shipping prices tend to break at around 3 tons, so if it’s possible to coordinate with friends, family, and neighbors to build a larger order, it’s likely you’ll be able to see some savings in your freight cost.

  • Our feeds are made fresh to order.  If kept in a cool, dry place, your feed will keep for three to four months.  Ideally, feed should be kept in airtight containers for maximum freshness.  If you have freezer space, you could freeze the feed until you are ready to use it.

  • First, understand that getting feed shipped to you is easy and stress-free. It’ll save you a long car ride and the hassle of making arrangements that come with it. Our shipping companies are professional, friendly, and helpful.

In order to make your feed delivery as smooth as possible, you’ll want to make some arrangements at your place beforehand. Depending on the size of your order, you may need a forklift or tractor to unload your order. We can request the shipper use a truck with a lift gate which can lower the pallets from the truck to the ground, but the truck driver will be unable to move your feed after that point. If you have any other special requests, for example, for a shorter truck or for a phone call prior to delivery, please let us know.
